Early literacy is the foundation of education. At Kids Strong and Free, we know that children are our future. We strive to assist young readers in developing early literacy skills that will result in several advantages for them, particularly with mental and physical health.

Kids Strong and Free recognizes that early literacy is the foundation of education. Children are our future – Kids Strong and Free strives to assist young readers in developing early literacy skills that will result in the following (to name just a few) advantages:
1 in every 4 Canadian children
entering Grade 1 is significantly behind his or her peers and poorly prepared to learn (National Strategy for Early Learning Summary Report, 2009)
Almost 40% of Canadian
youth do not have adequate literacy skills. (TD Canada Trust, Literacy Matters: A Call to Action)
25% of children
in Senior Kindergarten and Grade 1 are reading below their grade level. (National Strategy for Early Learning Full Report, 2009)
